Rob Stuart: Summer Blockbusters, Ian Ellery: Return of the iBot, School's Out For The Summer!

A very special show this week dedicated to the hardworking school-age children that finish this school year in the coming weeks!  Henry has been in Basel for two years and like many expats will be heading home when he finishes school this year.  He came in to share his experiences and discuss what he's looking forward to this summer and back home in Canada.  Theo and Jonas worked on the musical theme of Video Games this week, apropos of their dedication to the genre and to the extra time they anticipate having to hear the background music of their favorite games.  Music/Game list below...

First up, we had Rob Stuart, The English Show's resident cinephile joining us just in time to discuss the upcoming blockbuster movie season.  2016 promises to be another spectacular for those of us that love the movies, or just looking for a break from the heat.  The titles we discussed today are, A Bigger Splash, Truth, Peggy Guggenheim, Robert Frank, a Hologram for the King, A Man Who Knew Infinity.  Some are meant to dazzle and excite, others to make you think. Also this week, Ian Ellery - The Gadget Guru - of our correspondents at the Bluebox group joined us to share what's been happening with the iBot.  The innovative wheelchair has come a long way since it was introduced in 1999.  The product which was meant to address the shortcomings of conventional wheelchairs by being able to climb curbs and stairs, as well as raise its user to a standing height, was initially a commercial flop and pulled from the market by 2009 having only sold a hundred or so units.  Now, due to a change in its regulatory designation, the anticipated cost will be dramatically reduced, and Mr. Kamen has brought Toyota on board as a partner to help mass-produce the mobility device.  Click here to read more details about the fascinating journey of this gadget...
