Atlantis Basel, Gadget Guru - Fairphone 3

Broadcast on:
1 October, 2019

Lawrence Pawelzik of Atlantis Basel stopped by tonight to talk about this season's line-up of musical programming. In case you've never been to Atlantis, it is a cozy restaurant with a stage functioning as a live music venue. Close to Heuwaage, in the city center, it has been bringing live performances to Basel for 74 years. This concert season will feature almost 100 acts year-round, on Tuesdays through Saturdays, featuring rock, blues, funk and jazz. On October 23, they'll be hosting an American Cajun, Blues & Zydeco Festival featuring the musical stylings of Joe Hall & The Canecutters, Dwight 'Blackcat' Carrier Band and Michael Juan Nunez, plus a Cajun Menu all day and night. Lawrence and Atlantis were kind enough to bring along four CDs with music of artists that are featured at the venue. If you are interested, find the 'Win An Atlantis Artist CD' post on our Facebook Page, and comment 'I want a CD'. Listen to the interview here.

This week on the Gadget Guru, Ian takes a look at the Fairphone 3, perhaps the only ethically created mobile phone available today. Do ethically sourced components and fair wages make for a great phone or an also-ran? Listen to the segment to find out more.
