The Basel Health & Wellness Coalition, Indian Cooking with Spice Of India

Broadcast on:
15 January, 2019

The Basel Health and Wellness Coalition was set up by Shirley Hiscock for Swiss and international therapists and health practitioners in the Basel area. The aim is to spotlight different therapies, so you are better able to make informed choices about your healthcare. The therapists actively work together to enable an informed referral system, so that you receive the treatment that is best suited to you. Martin Daubney of Inspire Coaching and hypnotherapist Carol Daubney came in to talk about the coalition as well as a Body & Mind Event coming up on Saturday, 19 January 2019, at Centrepoint. The event will showcase just a small sample of the therapists in the coalition. Doors open at 13:45 and for a nominal entrance fee of just CHF 10 people can get to meet the therapists and attend one or all of the 8 talks throughout the afternoon. There is no need to book in advance. Listen to the interview again here.

Elaine Kanwar from the Basel restaurant Spice of India came in to talk about Indian Cuisine. Elaine has been living in Basel for six years, and during that time, the number of restaurants serving Indian cuisine has grown a lot. The growth in the number of vendors has been a boon to fans of Indian food, as the competition has ensured an increase in the quality and variety of offerings. Indian cuisine is very diverse and regional - not just Chicken Tikka Masala - driven by the staple ingredients local to the origins of the food. If you're a fan of dishes representative of Northern India, there are at least 10 restaurants that cater to this subcuisine, offering such typical dishes as Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Rogan Josh, or, for vegetarians, Palak or Butter Paneer.  Find Elaine at her restaurant featuring the best of Northern AND Southern Indian cuisine. Listen to the interview again here.
