InterSoccer, CheckOrphan, Gadget Guru - Tiny Tech

Broadcast on:
28 February, 2017

InterSoccer Regional Coordinator Cyril Vanlerberghe came into the studio to talk about the courses and camps InterSoccer offers. InterSoccer has been offering camp programs in Basel for 5 years and in greater Switzerland for 10 years to boys and girls aged 2-13 years. Their coaches come from around the world, bringing a great mix of skills, experience, knowledge and languages. English is the main language but many of the coaches also have a good knowledge of French and German. Cyril also mentioned that any adults interested in coaching kids soccer should inquire. Finally, Cyril brought a CHF 200.- voucher for any of the programs offered by InterSoccer which we will raffle on Facebook (look for the post with the raffle details and comment to be entered to win!). CheckOrphan is a Basel and California based non-profit organization founded to provide an independent source of information on rare diseases. Raiko Stephan, who works at CheckOrphan, joined us to talk about their goals. By raising their visibility, they are able to put life-saving information in the hands of patients. In addition, they are always looking to enhance their partnerships with life science companies, non-profits, and government organizations that are responsible for disease therapies. This important organization is always - as now - looking for volunteers, and not just scientists, but people with skills in marketing, communications and social media chops! Listen to the interview again here.

This week, Ian the Gadget Guru looks at tiny tech, not the usual way in which things get smaller every year, but making small versions of technology design icons. Super Impulse is one of the companies at the forefront of this trend. Listen to the segment again here.
