Dig It! - Sedums, Best Sights To See - Fondation Beyeler

Broadcast on:
4 October, 2016

As the days get shorter and the evenings cooler, the autumn stars of the garden begin to shine. Sedums, or stonecrops, are one of the favorite autumn flowering plants of Hester Macdonald, contributing correspondent of the BlueBox team, garden designer and founder of the Swiss Gardening School. Sedums provide interesting foliage all year as well as brilliant autumn flower colour. Chris Hansen, a sedum breeder from Michigan, is crazy about these plants, and we caught up with him at Plantarium, where he told us all about their latest medal-winner, the lovely ground-cover Sedoro "Blue Elf." If you want some ideas for planting sedums, go to their Sun Sparkler Sedums site and check out their make-over of their car park! Listen to the segment again here.

Our Basel tour guide Madeleine Wamister told us all about one of the best sights to see in Basel: The Fondation Beyeler in Riehen. The museum is a perennial favorite of The English Show, featuring world class artists' exhibitions and collections as well as special events such as concerts, talks and workshops. Check out current exhibition "Kandinsky, Marc & Der Blaue Reiter", which runs until January 22, 2017.
