Sue Style - Strawberries, Health Matters - Lightning

Broadcast on:
14 June, 2016

Our food guru Sue Style came into the studio today to talk strawberries! Strawberries are vitamin C bombs, containing twice as much as citrus fruits. Most fragrant are the Gariguette variety - originally from Provence, small, pointed, paler than most, usually more expensive, but worth it for the flavour. It's fun to go pick your own. Take or borrow some kids (they can taste the berries for you...) - keep an eye out as you drive around the countryside for billboards advertising "Erdbeeren selber pflücken" or, in France, "cueillette de fraises". This week's Health Matters segment is very topical, with the weather that we've been having across Europe. Our Bluebox correspondent Dr. Michelle Wright talks to us about lightning strikes: the health effects and what you should do if you are caught in a thunder and lightning storm. Listen to the segment again here.
