James Jeon - Seoul Ballet, Gadget Guru, Markus Klinko - David Bowie Photographs
This week's show was teeming with interesting guests:
Seoul Ballet Theater are in town this week performing in the 15-year Celebration Gala for Richard Wherlock at Theater Basel. Our Arts Correspondent Kevin Richmond was able to catch up with James Jeon, artistic director and choreographer, before he started an intense week of rehearsal. Listen to the interview again here.
Gaynor Dunraven interviewed L.A.-based celebrity & fashion photographer Markus Klinko at the Licht Feld Gallery Basel. Klinko is Swiss-born and -bred, but has lived abroad for many years. That did not stop him from returning to his home country to open his exclusive photography exhibition devoted entirely to David Bowie, with photographs taken for the "Heathen" album. A beautiful exhibition and a good chance to see big-format Bowie photographs right here in Basel. Listen to the interview again here and check out Gaynor's blog entry about exhibition opening night here.
Ian the Gadget Guru from the Bluebox correspondents team was with us to talk about the latest thing in the crosshairs of American lawmakers: texting while walking. New Jersey assemblywoman Pamela R. Lampitt has tabled a motion that would treat text-walkers as jaywalkers. On a completely different tack, Ian also told us about researchers at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology who have created a fabric with copper and silver nanostructures merged together. What could it all mean? Listen to Ian's segment again here.
