Nic OatridgeNic Oatridge talked about the delights of Zermatt this week. Zermatt is right at the head of a valley, surrounded by the highest peaks in Switzerland, and was a quiet farming community until the onset of Alpinism. Now it is a bustling town and the car-free cachet is somewhat undermined by the electric taxis and even police cars, plus of course buses racing to ferry skiers and snowboarders around the resort and its four pisted areas.

Niall O'SullivanNiall O'Sullivan of the Basel Irish Club swung by to tell Andrew Craven about Basel's thriving Irish Club. It's not just for the Irish, either, but anyone interested in the country's rich culture and charming people, as well as helping those (more than you'd think) from the Emerald Isle settle down in their new Basel home. Why not go along to their St. Patrick's Day family celebrations this coming Saturday - just for the craic you understand!
