Gadget Guru - Streaming Shuts Down Shared Passwords; Music, Hot Off The Presses!
Our friend and long-time contributor Ian Ellery, aka the Gadget Guru, joined us on the programme this evening to share his gadget-y insights. First up, Netflix, which recently announced record-breaking profits. It seems Netflix's latest strategy of shutting down password-sharing within friend and family circles has paid handsome dividends, as people adjust to having to pay for their fill of unlimited "free" programming. The Gadget Guru cautions that Disney+ and Paramount+ are likely not far behind, now that the password-sharing shut-down experiment has proven to be so lucrative for Netflix. Streamers beware!
Ian also told us how we can enjoy our store-bought coffee without the disposable cup guilt. GaeaStar is leading innovation in 3D-printed clay cups that can be used at your favourite caffeine dispensary. The company is promoting the concept of localised micro-factories to create the clay cups which are 100% recyclable or compostable. Listen to the segment here.
