Did you know that Switzerland has around 65'000 kilometres of hiking trails? That's about 1.5 times the circumference of the earth! A huge number of municipalities and volunteer organisations maintain the hiking trails and offer hikes in all the cantons.
Museums Night Basel 2015
A staggering 39 museums throw open their doors to the public on Basel's Museums Night. How do you get around 39 museums and three countries in one night? It's not easy, but shuttle buses (starting at Münsterplatz) will chauffeur you around Basel and the region, as well as across the borders to Germany and France. There's a shuttle plan available to download here.
Dedicated staff in the three countries and 39 museums and host institutions work for eight hours to host around 200 different programmes and events and much more.
Tickets are CHF 24.- / 15.- with a museum pass, and free, yes FREE for under 25s! Your ticket includes all the museum admissions and all transport. You can buy tickets in advance or at any museum on the night.

For those who do not want to stop, you can go clubbing after all that culture (included in the Museums Night admission fee): for example, at the Kuppel, House of Electronic Arts, Hinterhof or Nordstern.
