Em Bebbi sy Jazz 2019

This year marks the 36th edition of the must-see "Em Bebbi Sy Jazz" - the outdoor jazz event that takes place in Basel every year on a Friday night in August. From 6 p.m. to around 2 a.m., dozens of jazz groups, including street bands and choirs with over 500 musicians and singers, will play on several stages set up throughout the city's centre.

The festival locations range from the central post office, Marktplatz, Fischmarkt, Rümelinsplatz, Gerbergasse, and Leonhardskirchplatz to Gemsberg, Heuberg, Spalenberg and Nadelberg.

All concerts are free! Simply roam around town and stop and listen to what you like.

Various drink and food stands are set up around the city centre, making for a fun evening out.

Tip: The event is very crowded, so best not to bring a stroller!
