Roger Federer is the greatest athlete of our generation!
Basel’s hometown hero took home his record setting 20th Grand Slam by defeating Marin Cilic in the Australian Open Finals.
Federer won the first set in dominant fashion with a score of 6-2. Cilic rallied back in the second set by winning a tiebreaker with a score of 7-6(5).
Federer responded by taking the third set 6-3. Cilic fought in the fourth set and won it 6-3.
Federer won the final set with a score of 6-1. He is now the second oldest player to win a major title.
The Australian Open was the 200th major tournament thus far in the Open era, with Federer winning 10 percent of the championships!
