Basel Starwings defeated Central Luzern.
The Starwings still have a chance to make the postseason!
Three hundred fans packed the Birsfelden Sporthall in hopes of Birsfelden keeping their playoff hopes alive. Plus the team had to depend on last-place Winterthur defeating Monthey in order to stay in contention.
The Starwings, led by AJ Hess, exploded in the first half and led by 15 points.
The team continued the onslaught in the second half by taking a comfortable 26 point lead.
Luzern battled back in the fourth quarter but the deficit was too much for them to overcome. The Starwings won the match with a score of 108-87, with the added bonus of Winterthur winning their match.
Hess led the Starwings with 21 points while teammate Nemanja Calasan followed with 20 points.
The Starwings must defeat Monthey in their final match of the season to make the playoffs. The contest will take place this Saturday at Monthey.
