What's on in Basel - and lots of music

This week's show was all about culture and music. Basel's cultural scene once again boasts a kaleidoscope of events to delight us all. Check out the Baloise Session from 21 October to 9 November, for example - the line-up this year includes Passenger, Jessie J, Norah Jones, Ellie Goulding, UB40 and Noel Gallagher, among many others. And head to the Basler Herbstmesse (Basel's autumn fair) from 28 October to 12 November. Sample all the delicious food and enjoy a myriad of fairground rides – athough depending on your constitution, not necessarily in that order.

Also coming up: on October 11, Flying Steps — Flying Bach at the Burghof Lörrach or jazz band Steppin Stompers at the Atlantis Basel; the Cirque du Soleil at the Hallenstadion Zurich on October 11-15; Toddler Tales at the GGG Stadtbibliothek Basel West and the Brand #4 - Swiss Craft Spirits Festival at the Markthalle Basel on October 13; the Feldschlösschen Oktoberfest in Rheinfelden on October 14-15; the Vindonissa Park Festival in Windisch on October 15; 50 Cent at the Hallenstadion Zurich or a Centrepoint Apéro at Im Lohnhof 8 on October 19; and the Building Bridges Through Culture concert at the GGG Stadtbibliothek Basel West on October 26. Further down the line, on November 11, we recommend the Czar Fest at the Kaserne Basel for fans of heavy music.
