The Basel Bake Off - International Women’s Institute Basel

The International Women’s Institute Basel (IWI) was founded in 2015 as a place for women in Basel, Switzerland and the surrounding areas to make new friends, discover unknown talents and raise money for charities. The IWI is hosting a Basel Bake Off on Sunday, 22 May 2022, at Markhalle Basel. The Bake Off is a baking competition where your finest sweet home-baked goods go under the scrutiny of the IWI's judges to decide who is the top amateur-baker in Basel! They sell portions of the entries to raise money for charity as well as selling other savoury baked goods made by the IWI members & supporters. Judging starts at 10:30 for the competition and sweet bakes are available for sale from 11:00 to 15:00. Savoury bakes are on sale from 10:30. For this edition of the Bake Off, 50% of the proceeds will be donated to the Frauenhaus Basel. There's still time to sign up and join the competition! Our music theme this week was all about Alt-Rock. While the eras of stadium and glam rock have found their ways into the halls of fame, the bands which still continue to inspire are those of the alt-rock genre, from the 90s, 2000s, and 2010s which have given many modern bands inspiration which we still see today. Every band in the genre has its own sound, inspired by legends of rock before, but always with its own twist. We played:
