Well-Being Resources - Natashia Collier
Natashia Collier joined us at The English Show to tell us about a compendium of resources she has assembled to help expats with well-being issues. Finding yourself needing support with family issues, wellness or political advocacy? Natashia's experience, drawn from working at Tageswoche magazine in a role meant to develop content to bridge gaps between expats and locals, and completing her graduate degree at the University of Basel in Ethnographic Studies, has given her both an academic and real-world insight into the needs of expatriates. We've reprinted her list on our resource page, organized by issue in alphabetical order, and encourage you to link or translate on your webpage or blog as well.
Our musical theme tonight was "Shoegaze". The genre is defined by dreamy vocals, heavy guitar riffs and its name evolved from the habit of guitar players to stare down at their effect pedals when performing. Featuring titans of the genre, tonight's playlist featured:
My Bloody Valentine - "When You Sleep"
Whirr - "Press"
Slowdive - "Alison"
Cocteau Twins - "Cherry Colored Funk"
DIIV - "Doused"
Chapterhouse - "Something More"
Mass Of Fermenting Dregs - "ASAHINAGU"
