The Semi-Circle Basel - Basel's English Language Theater Group - Relaunch/Rebrand

Suzy Lyon and Alison Bolton of The Semi-Circle Basel joined The English Show in the studio to talk about all the changes at Semi Circle - new LOCATION at the Fachwerk Gebäude in Allschwil, new membership structure, new logo, new website, new exciting plays, new focus!  Covid was an opportunity for the organizers and management to research a new direction for the company.  The resulting focus on community is meant to take Semi Circle beyond only "theater" and "acting".  Focusing on bringing in members who are younger, who want to be involved in the theatre world in more ways than just auditioning - such as directing, casting, production, set design, make up. This will mean an emphasis on dedicated workshops that focus on these aspects, with mentors and teachers with years of experience...First up: the directors workshop which will see "wanna-be" directors being mentored, picking a play, casting it and putting it on in November - all with the help of seasoned directors. Each person can be involved in their own 10 min production from start to finish, from how to direct to how to cast (which will come from the 2nd workshop - an acting workshop!) and have your chosen play performed for an audience.    _______________________
