Culture, Music, and more!
Welcome back from our "Sommerpause". That's "summer break" in German, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to resume our programming. It's been a cool, wet summer so far, and, as if on cue, our return to the airwaves has been greeted by the sun and warmth we normally expect in Basel this time of year. We can't take credit for the weather, but we're happy to get back to work bringing you all the great English Show programming you've missed the last six weeks.
A lot has changed since we were last on air - most notable, and relevant to the English Show and our community, has been the resumption of live cultural events. We're glad to be sharing these updates with you and are looking forward to keeping you "in the know of what's on the go". This week, we talked about the Polyfon Festival at the Kaserne this Thursday to Saturday, the Bansky exhibition, open auditions for the Basel Panto Group, the Open Air Cinema on Münsterplatz, jazz festival Em Bebbi Sy Jazz on August 20th, and more.
Live cultural events will likely required proof-of-vaccination, so if you haven't already, please get yourself vaccinated. If you have, make sure to get the Covid Certificate App, which makes it easy to carry your proof-of-vaccination with you using an electronic QR code image.
Our music theme this evening was songs released in recent months. We hope you enjoyed the songs as much as we did:
Shihad - Tear Down Those Names
Glaare - For Sale
Sharon Van Etten & Angel Olsen - Like I Used To
St. Vincent - Pay Your Way In Pain
Manchester Orchestra - Bedhead
The Rah's - She's Not
Minimal Schlager - New Mirrors
Zeal & Ardor - Erase
