Deanna Iobbi - Play Basel Staycation Ideas
Deanna Iobbi, founder and editor of the Play Basel website, was in the studio with us today to share her top three staycation ideas for Easter. Deanna has been archiving activities for families on the website for over eight years. Her top three for families suddenly finding themselves short of ideas for the imminent vacation:
- Snow's almost melted, but before it does, make sure to try Airboarding in Davos. Ride head-first down the side of the mountain on an inflatable raft, using your legs for breaks and steering. Guides are available to optimize your fun and the activities are centered around the Davos/Klosters ski resort with all the amenities you would expect (Covid conditions permitting).
- If you are looking for a unique hotel experience, then look no further than the White Pod hotel. They have a nice family pod secluded from the crowds with dinner service and amazing outdoor activities for families.Try the husky hike - if there is still snow, then you can also go husky sledding.
- For anyone with younger kids fascinated by dinosaurs, a hike in the The Préhisto-Park is worth a visit. Families can hike a 2 km long forest trail with over giant replicas of dinosaurs all around. Right next to it are some amazing large limestone caves. More details here.
People who own local family-friendly businesses can submit their details to be included on the site here. Listen to the interview with Deanna Iobbi here.
