Spark Wine and Coffee Bar; Gadget Guru - Mini PCs

Broadcast on:
26 January, 2021

Vasco Benito Garcia told us about the re-newed venture Spark, a Portuguese food and wine concept in Basel, and its challenges during Covid times. Spark had been operating in Basel for many years and was about to close down in December 2019 when Vasco and his team took over - just in time for the first wave of Covid19-related restrictions. The team scrambled to adjust their service concept and have become the #1 rated Café on Trip Advisor in Basel. The secrets to Spark's success have been bringing Portuguese tastes to our fair city, as well as wines that you won't find anywhere else and gourmet take-away specialties. Once restaurants will be allowed to host guests again, Spark is planning coffee mornings and seating in their garden for events. Listen the interview here.

For the first show of 2021, Ian the Gadget Guru pondered changing from a Mac to a mini PC to help with working from home. While NUC (Next Unit of Computing) PCs have been around for a few years, they are finally packing serious computing power without a huge price tag. Do you even need a laptop these days?
