Family & Kids - Tips for Parents during Corona Lockdown, Supporting Local Shops and Culture
Our Family & Kids correspondent Laure Audidière gave us some tips on what to do with your toddler during corona lockdown. You have probably already spent countless hours being creative, doing sports, being a teacher and trying to work from home. But what else is there? Laure has some ideas on how to let the kids be the grown-ups and the grown-ups be the kids. And there's singing by an adorable two-year-old as well! Listen to all the details in her segment here.
English Show team member Karin Mohler shared her experience with teens during corona lockdown. It's not so much about keeping them entertained, but more about finding the balance between chores and Netflix. This seems to be the perfect time to organise households and rooms bit by bit. By being flexible and accommodating the teens' need to dye their hair and bake new things, or even to go out and meet (not more than four!) friends, the family can team up and move forward, making time to enjoy playing music or chess together. Listen to all the details in her segment here.
We had loads of practical information - including information from the Federal Council - for you in our show on March 24th - check out all the details here.
Don't forget to support your local bookshops, record shops, museums, cinemas and so on. For example, check out kult.kino's own streaming service myfilm.ch - the only streaming service in Europe operated by a cinema itself!

Record shops: Schmocki's Ohrwurm Oase, elchRecords, Plattfon, Hammer Sounds, and more.
Museums: for example, Museum der Kulturen is offering online arts & crafts instructions; Kunsthalle has its own YouTube channel; Kunstmuseum has an online shop; and the Basel Historical Museum is offering virtual tours.
Games shop: Spielbrett
If you'd like to support Basel artists, Kulturklinik is a new Basel website and online shop where you can donate or buy art or music or services like music lessons. The website "Bajour - Gärn gschee Kultur" streams a live concert every Wednesday at 20:15, where you can donate directly - all donations will go to Kulturklinik and Basel artists.
