Snow Patrol, Artist Sabina Fritzsche

Broadcast on:
12 February, 2019

Since their 1998 debut Songs for Polarbears, Snow Patrol have sold millions of albums and toured the world. You only have to hear the first two notes of Run or Chasing Cars to instantly recognise those songs. In May 2018, Snow Patrol released Wildness, their first album in seven years, and they've been on the road ever since. Their tour continues in 2019, with this year marking the band's 25th anniversary. Before Snow Patrol's concert in Frankfurt on February 8th, lead singer and songwriter Gary Lightbody talked to Anna Wirz about life on tour, the Northern Irish music scene, and how to keep your lighting guy from going insane. Listen to the full-length interview here.

Artist Sabina Fritzsche is a painter and experienced art therapist from Germany who has been based in Basel since 1980. Art, especially painting, is the centre of her life, as is passing on this love and passion for art to other people - people of all ages, cultures and different backgrounds. This may be in teaching painting and in her therapy work, or in her own artwork or in researching the biographies of artists. Fritzsche's mixed media Flower Power paintings are on view at CentrePoint during normal opening hours until February 23rd. Visiting the exhibition is free and open to everyone. Listen to the interview again here.
