Sustainable Living - Zero Waste Challenge with Kids, Tick Tacks Episode 2 - Moving To Another Country
Our "Queen of Green" Carrie Aikman continues the “Month-to-month adopt a green habit challenge". As if parenting isn't hard enough, this month Carrie challenges people to adopt zero waste habits pertaining to kids. Ideas include ditching disposable diapers in favour of cloth (she promises it isn't as bad as you may think), packing a waste-free lunch, buying gear second-hand, making your own baby food, hosting an eco-friendly kids' party, and saying "no" to those annoying 'freebies'! Listen to the segment again here for details - and there's a list of helpful resources, too!
Tick Tacks, a play on the acronym TCK (for Third Culture Kids), is a podcast produced by Dan Saks and The English Show. This is the serialized story of what it's like to be a Tick Tack - told in the first person by Third Culture Kids. Sam and Gwylim are the intrepid hosts of the podcast as we learn about the ABCs of TCKs. What's it like to be a kid or teenager growing up in a foreign culture, with a new language, new friends, new rules, and new opportunities? This episode is about how Tick Tacks' parents told them they were leaving, and it has tips and tricks for parents who are telling their kids about the move to another country. Listen to the podcast again here.
