Jeanne Darling "The Monster Book Of Switzerland" and Rylla Resler, Adriana Quarck, Francesca Incociatti "The Trailing Spouse Reimagined"

First up tonight was Jeanne Darling, appearing again on The English Show to talk about her new book "The Monster Book of Switzerland".  Following on the heels of her success with her previous book, "Basel's Hidden Stories", her latest work focuses on the "monster" myths, history and stories that identify with Switzerland in general.  With the help of illustrator Michael Meister, this fabulous book explores topics like how the Gotthard Tunnel was built, the Tatzelwurm, and the fact that Zippers and Aluminum foil were both invented or perfected right here, in sunny Suisse!  The book is available in German, French and English at Bider & Tanner, Bergli Books.  If you would like to attend a reading of the book, you can meet and hear Jeanne at the Binningen Dorffest Saturday, 15 September. 

Another new book that will have an author reading event at this Saturday's Binningen Dorffest is "The Trailing Spouse Reimagined: Stories of People Transported by Love".  In the studio tonight were Rylla Resler, Adriana Quarck and Francesca Incociatti, the authors.  We talked about the inspiration and shared experience for this new book that has started a crowdfunding campaign via WeMakeIt.  There is a sponsoring level for every budget, and by participating you will help bring these stories to light and get an invite to the launch event in November!  This anthology is an essential collection of personal stories that every expat will be able to relate to, or use as a guide if they've recently arrived.
