ACT Charity Event "Bollywood Meets HollyWood" & Constanza Running!

ACT (Act Compassionatley Together) Charity spokepersons Claudia Giessler, Neenu Kaul and Ana Ivette Pulido Bushell joined us in studio to talk about their upcoming event, "Bollywood meets Hollywood" a spectacular and colourful Bollywood show choreographed by Neenu Kaul, amazing tap dances by the Crazy Feet Company, energetic hip-hop dancing by Project X and singing and violin medleys to Hollywood favourites.

The evening of Saturday 15th of September, will be completed with disco dancing with DJ Ray, a photo booth, and the gin bar. Ticket price: 75.00 CHF including show, a welcome drink and finger food during the evening. Donations also possible. All proceeds will go to the organization Citta a non-profit organization based in the USA founded by Michael Daube. CITTA’S objectives focus on health, education and economic development, which synergize with ACT’S purpose. This project aims to develop an innovative school/cooperative in order to provide young girls with an education in combination with a women’s economic development program. The school will be built in a desert site in Rajasthan, where the female literacy rate is only 32%. ACT’S goal is to raise 10,000 CHF to build one of the classrooms at the school.

Constanza Lisdero was in the studio to talk about her ChiRunning workshops, trainings and group runs.  ChiRunning? ...started by Danny Dreyer in the early 90s, the technique is meant to incorporate elements of Tai Chi into running - the result being a more sustainable, injury-free, efficient exercise technique.  In under seven years, Constanza has managed to go from novice to marathon runner, and now shares her knowledge and passion for the sport and this special approach with those interested in starting or improving their running experience.  

Finally, our intrepid reporter Ingrid interviewed Daniël Frischknecht organizer of the Basel Allianz Open Air Cinema. The event is in its 27th year, and have implemented many improvements to enhance the experience!  You'll find FatBoy beanbags and lounge chairs to sit in while you enjoy a glass of wine, beer or a snack from one of many vendors.  Running until the 26th, the event will feature a special "Surprise Night" this Thursday, the 23rd of August for which The English Show has procured 2 Free Tickets to GIVE AWAY.
