International Community Music School, Learning Chinese

Broadcast on:
5 September, 2017

The International Community Music School - Basel was founded by a group of professional musicians and music teachers from different countries and backgrounds who now live and work in the Basel area. They provide quality music education in many languages to the multicultural community in the region.

Emily Yaffe, director and violin/viola instructor, brought Zachary (7) and Owen (12), students of the ICMS rock programme, to provide a live music sample. Listen to the interview - and live music! - again here.

Who knew it was so easy to learn Mandarin Chinese? Cony Lee, resident of Basel and Chinese language instructor extraordinaire, was a guest of the show tonight. The Mandarin Chinese language is your passport to communicating with over 1.5 billion people, and the soon to be largest economy in the world. Cony shared her fun, story-telling approach to teaching Chinese by having Joel learn, in under two minutes, how to say the words for the numbers 1 - 5! You can find Cony at conylee@gmx.com or +41 (0) 79 107 42 31. Listen to the interview again here.
