Basel End Of Summer...Rheinschwim!

Hard to believe the summer is almost over.  With the weather having dipped into the teens overnight the last few weeks, it almost seems like summer never really began.  Fret-ye-not, for just in time for the official Basel Rheinswim, the temperatures have risen, as if ordered by the burgermeisters themselves for the enjoyment of their fellow citizens.  The annual fete happens to coincide this year with the English Show's scheduled programming, so alas, the team will not be in the water.  You however can enjoy the waters of our beloved Rhein!  Did you know that until the 18th century, people wouldn't even so much as put a toe in the water...the river was commonly used to drain sewage or execute condemned convicts via drowning!  This year, the organizers expect up to 5000 people to take the plunge...enjoy...and enjoy what's left of the summer.  Our music theme celebrated swimming, back-to-school, and BBQ's and all the other good things we enjoy during summertime:
