Your Little Shop Switzerland, The Vagina Monologues, Infofenster 14 - Organisations for Immigrants

Broadcast on:
24 January, 2017

A busy show tonight to coincide with a busy time of year! Our first guest was Ozlam Kacar of Your Little Shop, a new vendor of functional, funky and joyful products for your everyday life.  Her products can be highly customized to suit any event or special occasion. Ozlem came to Basel as a trailing spouse and set up her web store a little while ago.   The shop is currently web-only; however, Ozlem has big plans to expand as her business grows!  She shared with us some of the challanges, experiences and successes of getting her enterprise going here in Basel.  In addition, Ozlem is offering the chance to win a CHF 20 gift card for her shop! Simply follow this link to Facebook, and leave a comment on the post saying you're interested.  We'll draw the winner on next week's show!

Nicolaia Marston and Richard Brown from the Basel production of The Vagina Monologues also joined us in the studios tonight.  The Vagina Monologues, written by Eve Ensler, is a series of theatrical monologues performed live on stage.  In its Basel incarnation it will be performed at Unternehmen Mitte February 11-13.  In conjunction with the global V-Day Movement and V-Day Basel 2017, the production will support local organisations that fight to end violence against women.  Tickets can be purchased at Ticketino.

And in the continuing Radio X Infofenster series, we look at life in Switzerland and, more specifically, in Basel. This week's segment: Organisations for Immigrants!
