Kevin Richmond's Culture Round-Up, Rob Stuart

Broadcast on:
1 March, 2016

We had our fantastic contributors in the studio today, offering you a smorgasbord of culture and film.

Our Arts Correspondent Kevin Richmond came in to talk about dance performances happening in March and April. There's Constanza Macras' Voyage Voyage in Mulhouse via the Kaserne Basel; Ossip Mandelstam. A performance by Geneva-based dancer and choreographer Ioannis Mandafounis, at the Kaserne; and theater project Tanzfaktor Interregio by Philippe Olza, who was on the English Show in January. The 10th of March sees the premiere of new production Sleeping Beauty at the Theater Basel. In April, choreographer Richard Wherlock celebrates 15 years at the Ballet Basel; and there's the Steps Dance Festival - tickets are going fast, so get yours now! Listen to the segment again here.

Our cinema expert Rob Stuart told us about superhero spoof 'Deadpool' with Ryan Reynolds and new Coen Brothers movie Hail Caesar!, with Ralph Fiennes, Josh Brolin, George Clooney, Tilda Swinton, Scarlett Johannson, and Channing Tatum. There's also 'Trumbo', which depicts the blacklist in the 50s, and comedy Zoolander 2, with Ben Stiller, Penelope Cruz and Owen Wilson. It was the 88th Oscars last weekend, with Oscars going to Leonardo Di Caprio for Best Actor, Brie Larson for Best Actress, and 'Spotlight' for Best Picture.
