Katharina Fellmann, Baobei Charity Run, Nightlife Survey

Broadcast on:
25 August, 2015

Katharina Fellmann joined us today to tell us about the benefits of Movement Medicine, using dance as a medium to promote health and wellness. Her service is offered in Basel at the Rialto, and drop-ins are welcome to experience her class. The focus is on movement - dance experience is not necessary and her classes are appropriate for young and old, men, women and children.

Our second studio guest was Julie Pasquale, sister of The English Show's Alex Pasquale. She was with us to talk about the RUN FOR BAOBEI. This Friday, the 28th of August, a charity run will be held at 4:00 pm at the Schützenmattpark in Basel. The charity is for orphaned children with birth defects in China. Most of the babies that this organisation helps were abandoned in front of hospitals, in trash dumpsters, and so on.

Run for Baobei gives you a chance to help these children who do not have anyone to pay for critical medical care. You can choose how much you would like to donate. You will also receive a wristband for participating and have a chance to win an array of different prizes. Food and drinks will also be sold. All the money raised - including the money from food stand - will go to the Baobei Organization. If you have any questions, email Julie at baobei.foundation@hotmail.com. Every Rappen counts!

MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD! The English Show has been invited to participate in the 2nd annual Basel Nightlife Conference organized by Kulturstadt Jetzt. The conference gathers policy makers, bar and club owners, private enterprises, interest groups and other stakeholders with the aim of creating a common base for a wider discussion on the topic of nightlife culture and social environment in the 24-hour society. The English Show will represent the interests of English-speaking Expats living in Basel and their opinions of Basel nightlife culture. This is your chance to be heard and influence policy and culture in our host city. Please take this short (6 question, multiple-choice, anonymous) survey to participate: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GRFXGRN. Thanks in advance for your help!!!
