Sue Style, Gadget Guru - Smartwatches

Who wants to cook in this heat we're currently having in Basel? Not Sue Style, our resident food expert who came up with ideas for the best iced soups for steamy summer nights - gazpacho of course (and try adding some strawberries or watermelon to your regular recipe, gives a nice touch of sweetness when the tomatoes are a bit sharp and lacking in flavour). Your secret weapon, says Sue, is an immersion blender - just throw all the ingredients in a deep bowl, blitz everything till smooth as silk, float a few ice cubes on top and you're done.

Here's a super-simple recipe for a super-simple, palest green iced soup: 2 cucumbers, peeled, seeded and diced + 1 ripe avocado + 500ml coconut milk + 1 finely chopped green chilli (peperoncino) + 1 carton Greek yogurt. Squirt in the juice of 1 lime too to sharpen things up and add salt and pepper to taste. If you have spare ice cubes lying about, throw in a handful too - helps to chill it down fast. Slurp from glasses or bowls.

Ian the Gadget Guru from the Bluebox correspondents team was also with us today. He told us about Smartwatches and how a lot of the discussion about these watches have centered around Apple's iWatch. Ian instead focuses on Swiss watchmakers Frederique Constant. Their range of classy Smartwatches actually look like watches and not like something someone dreamed up in the 80s.
