Basel Bake Off, Raisins and Walnuts Food Blog, Fitting Wines - Pinot Noir
This Sunday, 12th April, the International Women's Institute Basel is hosting the Basel Bake Off, a cake and pudding competition. Sandra Willi and Jay Sodha came into the studio to tell us about the event. Who will go through to the December finals? Find out by going to the Bake Off at the Markthalle Basel, where you'll also find craft and homemade goods stands. 50% of the profits from the event will be donated to the Frauenhaus Basel.
Matt Gilsenan talked to Dima Jarjour about her new food blog, Raisins and Walnuts, focusing on Levantine food from the region around Syria. Check out the blog for delicious Middle Eastern recipes made with ingredients you can source in Basel. Dima is also offering cooking classes locally for small groups.
We also had Simon Hardy of Fitting Wines on the show. Simon Hardy is originally from the UK and is now based full-time in Lausanne, Switzerland. He holds the WSET Diploma in Wines & Spirits and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Wines & Spirits in London. This week, he told us all about Pinot Noir. Listen to the segment again here.
