Nic Oatridge, Rob Stuart
This week, our skiing expert Nic Oatridge took us to Melchsee. Car-free family-friendly Melchsee-Frutt is a pleasant day trip with its well-priced passes and varied pistes. There is something for all standards, but it is effectively three resorts in one. For tobogganists there is an 8k run down to Stöckalp, which also constitutes the blue run back down and can get busy at times. For more on Melchsee, have a listen to our stream below!
Rob Stuart popped into the studio to talk about the newest cinema releases. There's Philomena, a heartbreaking but uplifting film directed by Stephen Frears and starring Judi Dench and Steve Coogan. Martin Scorsese's Wolf of Wall Street has been receiving mixed reviews; this one stars Leonardo DiCaprio and is based on a stockbroker's memoirs. Other releases include The Physician, starring Ben Kingsley and Stellan Skarsgard; Jim Jarmush's Only Lovers Left Alive with Tom Hiddleston and Tilda Swinton; and David O. Russell's American Hustle, starring Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper and Amy Adams.
And here's an exciting heads-up: Pathé Eldorado is once again showing a National Theatre production on its cinema screens - this time it's Shakespeare's Coriolanus, starring Tom Hiddleston and Mark Gatiss. Get your tickets for 30th January 2014!
And of course we had our regular features - news, sports and culture! Our music selection included tributes to the legendary Lou Reed, as we played Walk On The Wild Side, Perfect Day, Satellite of Love, and Rock 'n' Roll.
