Peter, Jim & Brendan Mayer, Rob Stuart

Singer-songwriter and guitarist extraordinaire Peter Mayer came into the studio with his brother Jim Mayer and his son Brendan Mayer, both excellent musicians in their own right, to tell us about their current activities. Peter and Jim are between tour dates with Jimmy Buffett - but tonight they're playing at The Corbeau in Witterswil, and then heading to Amsterdam after their evening in Switzerland. We were thrilled that the trio played the beautiful It's Alright live in the studio!

Our resident cinema expert Rob Stuart told Andrew about the Zurich Film Festival happening now, with Marc Forster as the jury president, plus opening film Rush. Directed by Ron Howard of Apollo 13 fame, the film is the story of two famous racing car drivers who battled it out on the international Formula 1 race circuits in the 1970s. It stars Daniel Brühl and Chris Hemsworth playing Niki Lauda and James Hunt, respectively. Jobs, directed by Josha Michael Sterns, stars Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs, the founder of the Apple computer company. Red 2, the remake of the original action-comedy romance, has a host of stars including Bruce Willis, Sean Connery, Gene Hackman, Helen Mirren, Anthony Hopkins and Jack Nicholson, and is a lot of fun. Stadtkino Basel is showing Pulp Fiction, directed by Quentin Taratino and starring John Travolta and Uma Thurman. And finally, Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg team up in cop buddy movie 2 Guns, billed as the best buddy movie since Lethal Weapon, no less!
