Our cinema expert Rob Stuart told us about The Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp playing Commanche 'Tonto' in a very funny new Western. There's two films dealing with art and paintings but not exactly in the same style. At Pathe Kuchlin, Trance by Danny Boyle, starring James McAvoy; and 60s remake Gambit (Studio Central), directed by Michael Hoffman, starring Colin Firth, Cameron Diaz, and Alan Rickman. Also at Pathe Kuchlin, a Danish-Thai co-production called Only God Forgives set in Bangkok's criminal underworld that will chill you to the bone with Ryan Gosling's moody moves and the lovely Kristen Scott-Thomas. Neill Blomkamp wrote, directed and co-produced the latest Matt Damon blockbuster Elysium, an American science-fiction film set in the year 2154 that portrays a harsh reality on earth; a vision not too different or far from our contemporary life. Lastly, Kult kino Club is showing Shadow Dancer with Clive Owen and Gillian Anderson in a psychological, political thriller set in Belfast in the 1990s.
