Sue Style - The Landscape of Swiss Wine, Fête des Vignerons, and Basel Wines - June 2019

Our food & wine guru Sue Style joined us in the studio tonight. With the help of the folks at Bergli publishers, she has a new book on the shelves, "The Landscape Of Swiss Wine - A Wine-Lover's Tour Of Switzerland". The book is written in English with plenty of eye-catching photos on every page and is organized as a clockwise tour of the country, stopping in with wine-growers, famous vineyards, and must-try, unique varietals. Switzerland produces a small amount of wine by global standards, meaning you'll have to enjoy them while you are here - and there is plenty to enjoy according to Sue and her book! Of course, we couldn't talk about wine this year without mentioning the Fête des Vignerons, a once-in-a-generation wine festival which takes place on the shores of Lake Geneva in Vevey, Switzerland. Organized by the local wine industry and running since 1797, the festival is centered around performances and, of course, tasting the local wine. Sue also told us about local Basel wines to look out for.
