Reginald D. Hunter - October 2014

Reporter at large Andrew Craven talked to stand-up comedian Reginald D. Hunter at the Kuppel Basel on October 12th, 2014. Although originally from the southern state of Georgia in the US, for many years, Reginald has been polishing his refreshingly honest comedy skills in the UK, at top-flight places such as the Hammersmith Apollo and the Edinburgh Festival. He also performs to sell-out audiences as far afield as Australia. His very intelligent take on contemporary life was so over-subscribed in Basel that Guy Stevens, the organiser of the International Comedy Club, booked him for a follow-on gig the next night.

And that's where The English Show caught up with him afterwards in a rather noisy dressing room at the Comedy Club's well-known venue at the Kuppel, near the zoo. Andrew Craven asked him about his early aspirations to train as an actor, and why he chose London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art above some world-famous schools nearer to home, such as the Juillard School in New York.
