Public Service Broadcasting - April 2019
Public Service Broadcasting are a London-based band who play mostly instrumental music. The twist is this: they use archive footage of public service announcements or news reels and marry those samples and images with alternative rock and electronic music. They've released three studio albums and four EPs since 2010; the last two releases were about coal mining in Wales and the Titanic, respectively, which gives you an idea of the range of topics they cover. They're headliners at the Between The Beats Festival at the Burghof in Lörrach on 12th of April 2019. Anna Wirz spoke to the excellently monikered J. Willgoose, Esq. - not his real name obviously - ahead of the show about archival research, enjoying the moment, and dancing astronauts. Listen to the full-length interview below.
