Korea’s Ambassador to Switzerland, LEE Sangkyu - April 2016

At the end of March 2016, we interviewed James Jeon, the choreographer with the Seoul Ballet Company in Korea. He described a joint project with Basel’s own Ballet company. He and Basel’s choreographer, Richard Wherlock, have collaborated in a unique, joint production, entitled MOVES, featuring dancers from both countries at Basel’s very own Theater in sellout performances. In the last week of March, choreographers and dancers held one final rehearsal in the presence of the Korea’s Ambassador to Switzerland, LEE Sangkyu. Backstage, Andrew Craven asked him how important events such as these are in bringing cultures together.
