Did you know that Switzerland has around 65'000 kilometres of hiking trails? That's about 1.5 times the circumference of the earth! A huge number of municipalities and volunteer organisations maintain the hiking trails and offer hikes in all the cantons.
Kevin Richmond's Dance Round-Up - January 2017
Our Arts Correspondent Kevin Richmond told us all about the dance performances happening in Basel in the coming months.
At the Musical Theater, there's the Russian Ballet's Swan Lake on the 20th January and the National Dance Company of Ireland's Rhythm Of The Dance on the 27th January. Further down the line, from 25 - 30 July, you have the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre.
At the Theater Basel, there's Richard Wherlock's Robin Hood, playing until March 12th, as well as Rodgers and Hammerstein's musical Carousel, performed until May 5th.
At the Roxy Birsfelden, you have Alessandro Schiattarella's Strano from 14 - 19 March.
And at the Kaserne Basel, check out I Just Wanna F***ing Dance oder Begeisterung und Protest on February 14th and 15th; Jérôme Bel's Gala on February 21st and 22nd; and Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker's Partita 2 on February 25th and 26th.
