Capricornus Consort Basel - September 2020
Karin Mohler talked to David Blunden of the ensemble Capricornus Consort Basel, which was founded around 15 years ago by a group of music students of the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, the department for early music at the Music Academy in Basel. Since then they have grown together over the years as professional musicians and as friends, to play classical music on historically reconstructed instruments to make their chamber music sound authentic to the 17th and 18th centuries. They have released ten albums, and their eleventh is about to be launched on Thursday, 10th September 2020, at the Martinskirche Basel at 19:30. You can expect about half an hour of pieces from the new album along with the 'baptism' of the CD. You are of course invited to purchase the album if you are looking to stock up early on Christmas presents.
