Artist Georgia Munnik - June 2019

South African visual artist Georgia Munnik is in Basel at the Atelier Mondial on a three-month residency. Her practice is primarily concerned with performing broken moments in official languages. Currently, Munnik’s research interests are on immigrant-descended youth culture, dialects, and how to transcribe these languages while maintaining their integrity.

Join her on Wednesday 19 June 2019 from 7 to 9 p.m. for a survey performance and presentation of her work at DOCK Archiv Diskurs und Kunstraum (Klybeckstrasse 29). Munnik is performing a one-on-one multiple choice survey. Her presentation starts at 8 p.m. and she will discuss survey as a research method, presenting her larger, on-going research project "The only language I speak is not my own" as well as showing relevant, previous projects.
