If you long for one of those rare Northern Soul nights, then this is the event for you.

One of the, if not the coolest soul band from the UK will be at Café Atlantik in Freiburg on 21 Septebmer 2023. The 8-piece soul band Stone Foundation from the British Midlands has already released ten studio albums in their 25-year band history - most of them produced by British mod icon Paul Weller (The Jam) himself in his Black Barn Studio.

You can well imagine why the band Stone Foundation found a prominent, loyal promoter in Paul Weller: Their music just sounds so much like all the music that Weller himself loves; at the same time, the band also has some of the "Modfather's" sense of style and coolness.

The not-so-young troupe offers fine brass-driven funk, soul and Latin jazz reminiscent of Weller's Style Council phase of the 80s, but also of now lesser-known bands of that time like The Blow Monkeys, Swing Out Sister or Working Week.

The Stone Foundation has already worked with Dr. Robert (Blow Monkeys), Kathryn Williams, Mick Talbot (The Style Council, Dexys), Hamish Stuart (The Average White Band), the legendary disco queen diva Melba Moore and many more – because they are an underdog institution of fine sound and good taste.
