A Juju, or Gris-gris is a Voodoo amulet originating in Africa which is believed to protect the wearer from evil or bring luck. It consists of a small cloth bag, usually containing a ritual number of small objects, worn on the person.
Boycotlettes is an artist collective in Basel that has been around for over 20 years. They produce street wear and street art. Every year, they make about 1800 unique pieces for kids, women and men. It's all made out of off-cuts and hand- or screenprinted. Their motto is: fashion shouldn't be luxury / shouldn't cost an arm and a leg.
The juju installation confronts visitors with their own fears and desires.
And you can produce your own lucky charms in juju workshops!
