Zurich Barracudas even championship series with Therwil Flyers.

The Flyers travelled to Zurich in hopes of winning the 2017 Swiss Baseball Championship. Zurich had other plans however.

Stefan Koller gave Basel an early lead in the second inning by driving home David Castillo with a single.

Zurich scored two runs in the bottom of the third inning.

Therwil tied the game in the top of the fourth inning after Tyler Krobetzky scored on a groundout.

Zurich responded by scoring three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.  The team scored three more runs in the following inning.

Therwil’s struggles continued into the seventh inning and allowed four more runs.

Martin Novak scored in the top of the ninth inning for Therwil. The Flyers had a runner on third base but failed to drive him in to score. The final two batters struck out and the Barracudas won the game with a score of 12-3.

The fifth and final game in the series will take place this Saturday in Therwil.
