KT Tunstall, Frank Turner - The Music Industry During Lockdown

Broadcast on:
5 May, 2020

Scottish musician KT Tunstall broke out in 2004 with a live solo performance of her song "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" on Later... with Jools Holland. Since then, she has released six albums, been a producer and soundtrack composer, and toured the world. With the music industry hit hard by the current situation, everything has come to a halt. KT Tunstall talked about her KT Raves on Instagram at 9pm on weekdays, unfair pay for musicians (#brokenrecord), her single "Starlight & Gold", and remote work on her new album. Follow Tunstall on Twitter or Instagram to keep updated on all her activities. Listen to the interview here.

English musician Frank Turner and his band The Sleeping Souls are known for their raucous, high-energy concerts - and for touring relentlessly. With coronavirus pulling the rug out from under live music, Turner has had to adjust to the current situation in different ways. He told us about live streaming, saving venues, being a history nerd, and his two recent albums "No Man's Land" and "Live In Newcastle". Follow Turner on Twitter or Instagram to keep updated on all his activities. Listen to the interview here.
