Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition

Event Dates:
1 December, 2017 - 16:00 - 3 June, 2018 - 17:00

Wildlife Photographer of the Year is one of the world's largest and most prestigious contests for nature photography organised by the Natural History Museum in London. Each year, the pictures set new standards for animal and nature photography.

For six months, the Naturhistorisches Museum Basel (Natural History Museum) will show the best photographs of nature selected in the contest. Breathtaking landscapes, astonishing animal portraits, and dramatic nature adventures will allow you to immerse yourself in the beauty and magic of nature.

An international jury selects photographs that are particularly convincing through their artistic quality and originality. Each image is a unique tribute to the splendour, diversity and fragility of life on our planet.

The competition builds on the idea of nature and animal protection and wants visitors to experience nature, discover its beauty, and gain awareness of its wonders and vulnerability.

When: 1 December 2017 - 3 June 2018
