Semi-Circle Theatre Production "Blithe Spirit"

English language theatre group Semi-Circle is a non-profit English language theatre group, based in Basel. Founded in 1975, they are all amateurs and operate entirely with volunteers, staging two productions every year - usually in June and November.

Semi-Circle's next production is "Blithe Spirit" by Noel Coward.

A fast-moving comedy set in the 1930's, this love-triangle between a husband and his two beautiful wives - one who is alive and one who is very much dead - is a witty and riotous English classic!

The socialite and novelist, Charles Condomine, invites the eccentric medium and clairvoyant, Madame Arcati, to his house to conduct a séance, hoping to gather material for his next book.

The scheme backfires when he is haunted by the ghost of his temperamental first wife, Elvira, after the séance.  Elvira makes continual attempts to disrupt Charles's marriage to his second wife, Ruth, who cannot see or hear the ghost.
