Open Air Basel 2018

Basel has been home to a music festival right in the heart of the city for the past eight years - with the Kasernenhof being turned into an impressive concert arena for three days.

Over the years, many national and international bands have graced the Open Air Basel stage, including GusGus (IS), John Grant (USA), Talib Kweli (USA) and Maximo Park (UK).

This year's line-up includes Stereoluchs & The Scrucialists, Faber, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, The RK, Joan As Police Woman, Altin Gün and Mount Kimbie.

In the afternoons, free concerts ensure a perfect festival atmosphere and the "Wiese" invites young and old alike to enjoy a lively and varied programme. The charitable organisation Viva con Agua, which campaigns for «clean drinking water worldwide», has accompanied the festival from day one and raises donations through numerous fundraising activities. Sustainability is also a key ingredient in the delicious culinary offerings.
