Montreux Jazz Festival 2018

Event Dates:
29 June, 2018 - 20:00 - 14 July, 2018 - 23:45

The Montreux Jazz Festival is a music festival held annually in early July in Montreux on the Lake Geneva shoreline. It is the second largest annual jazz festival in the world after Canada's Montreal International Jazz Festival. Founded in 1967, it now features all genres of music, not just jazz.

Since its beginnings, the Festival has developed its range of activities considerably. The Festival universe now flourishes all year long: the Montreux Jazz Artists Foundation, dedicated to educational projects and training a new generation of artists; the Montreux Jazz Café restaurants, veritable ambassadors of the Festival spirit across the world; the Claude Nobs Foundation, whose mission is to preserve and valorize the world’s most extensive audiovisual concert archives.

This year's line-up is amazing. In the pop/rock/electronica genre, it includes Rag'n'Bone Man, Massive Attack, Iggy Pop, Deep Purple (whose "Smoke on the Water" was written about Montreux), Billy Idol, Queens of the Stone Age, Gary Numan, Nine Inch Nails, Jack White, Van Morrison, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Jamiroquai and many more. And that's just pop, rock and electronica!
